Bring the entire family along while camping at the beach or in the woods with the Jeep eight-person family dome tent. Comfortable and spacious, the tent boasts two large rooms separate by a room divider, along with two large bay windows that make the interior feel extra roomy while you stretch out. The tent is also designed to keep water where it belongs (i.e., outside), with sonic-sealed floors that are welded rather than sewn, so you don’t have to worry about stitching or needle holes. And for further weather resistance, the tent comes with a sturdy rainfly that provides superior waterproofing. As a bonus, you can also use the rainfly as a standalone shade canopy on hot days, or as a protective tarp for meals in mild showers.

The Jeep tent offers ample storage for your gear, with two front storage areas and two overhead gear lofts. As a result, you’ll have plenty of room for your flashlight, wallet, book, and other smaller items. Finally, the tent is a breeze to keep clean, with a sweep-out doorsill for easy tidying and a large mud mat in the front to keep the interior dirt-free. Also equipped with four low corner vents that help increase ventilation, the tent’s footprint measures 12 by 14 feet while standing 84 inches tall.

Customer reviews for Jeep 14×12 8-Person Family Dome Tent :

“After hours upon hours of tent searching I arrived at this one but found very few reviews associated with it. I purchased it for my wife and I to go camping for our first anniversary while I was home on leave from Iraq.
The first thing that I noticed is that it is a heavy tent! No big deal if you’re driving to the camping spot and unpacking your truck right there but you probably won’t want to be backpacking this thing into your site. Dome tents are designed for more headroom but that adds to the weight factor as well.
The tent, the fly, the stakes, and the poles all come in a nice gym bag type carrying case that says jeep on the side. I absolutely LOVE it because the material is strong and will protect your tent while it’s in storage. It has two handles that make it more than easy to transport. The overall weight is between 35 and 40 pounds. My former cheaper tents came in poorly constructed bags that ripped and fell apart over the years. This one’s carrying case is wonderful and will last as long as your tent!
Putting the tent together was fairly simple and took my wife and I about 30 minutes from start to finish our first run through-it should go much quicker now that we know how to set it up. There are eight long and pretty solid poles that make up the four corners of the tent (two per corner) They can be seen in the above pictures and will be used in setting up the tent or just the canopy alone. These are great quality poles, hollow inside so they’re light weight.
The top of the tent has two poles that make an X over the center of the tent going from corner to corner. They are very easily fed through the top and hook in quite nicely. Raising the tent is easiest when you put it all together lying on the ground then lift it all at once with at least two people. Once it is up it is easy enough to set the eight legs in place. That’s the bulk of the tent-two long fiberglass poles across the top and eight long legs at the corners.
Without the fly you have a very open tent and it’s wonderful on a cool summer night. The windows and large door allow for a lot of ventilation.
The door is large and has two sets of zippers one running along the bottom and the other running from the bottom right side up and around to the top left of the door when looking at it from the outside. The screen and sold door each have separate zippers. The screen can be rolled back and held in place on the outside of the tent and the inner solid door can also be rolled back and held in place on the inside of the tent. The tent comes with a convenient little hook and loop system to allow for this which we frequently used.
The windows are also quite large and very nice! The two on the sides have their own poles that are inserted from the inside to give them the arc. You then must extend it outwards and stake it down. The tent comes with ‘guy ropes’ for this and it’s easy to figure out. You can see in the pictures how it is done. The space it creates inside is great and adds a luxurious feel to the tent. There are also two extra “windows” at the front left and right corners. They run from the ground to about four feet up. They’re about a foot and a half wide at the bottom and narrow towards the top making a triangle. These can be unzipped from the inside as well. The picture of the tent without the fly shows this most clearly on the right side.
The center of the tent stands at 82 inches-more than enough room for almost everyone. The sides are almost vertical and give you plenty of headroom all around the inside of the tent-not just at the center as in smaller tents. There is lots of room to walk around because the arc of the roof begins six feet up at the end of the long poles at each corner. There are clips at the center of the inside of the ceiling to create the “loft” which comes with the tent. You simply loop the material around the hooks and your loft is created. This is very handy as we stored keys, flashlights, or other small items in this convenient out-of-the-way spot.
There are also two little organizers hanging from the inside of the tent on each side. These can be used to store small gear the same as the loft. There are also “closets” in the front right and left triangles of the tent. You can see the one on in the picture at the left of the door. On the bottom of the khaki colored part there is a zipper that is shaped like a J. There is another zipper inside as well so you can access whatever is in there from the outside as well as the inside. The closet on the right is the same way.
The room divider is extremely simple to put up. It uses the same hook and loop system as the loft and the doors. There is a zipper in the center of the divider for access between the rooms. If you want the divider up but open you can roll each side back and attach it with another hook and loop just like you would the tent door.
One of the things that won me over during my search for a tent was that there is waterproofing material that runs about 6 inches up the side of the tent. I found this in a few of the more pricey tents and I LOVE it! It protects the side of the tent from the morning dew that often soaks anyone that is sleeping too close to the wall. It will also save you in a rainstorm if you’re sitting in a few inches of water. Great feature!
The colors of the tent are MUCH more impressive in person! I was excited from the pictures but was thrilled with the actual tent. It’s a gorgeous piece of equipment!
The polyethylene floor is thick and feels very strong. My wife and I still used a large tarp underneath for added protection. The side of the tent and fly are polyester and feel thicker than the cheaper tents I’ve owned. Again, the price paid for this tent is worth it because of the excellent quality!
The fly itself is very very easy to put on the tent. It has eight male clips that attach to the other eight female clips at the corners. You put them together then tighten it up like a backpacks straps. Very simple! I loved it! One of the nicest features was the overhang above the door. There is one last pole that easily feeds through from one end to the other and makes a nice lateral arc above the door and extends it to about a foot and a half out. The fly itself does not adhere to the tent like traditional flies. This way you still have circulation within the tent through the ceiling even if all of the windows are up. It will also not leak through the roof like many I’ve experienced before. The fly can stand alone as a shade canopy which would be excellent because of the large dimensions-12×14 feet.
There is also a “mud mat” on the outside of the tent just before you step in. We found this to be pretty handy as well. It runs the length of the tent between the two closets.
Some of the reviews I previously read had people upset about not fitting everything back into it’s carrying bag. We had no problem at all with this! We folded the tent in one direction until it was as the same width as the bag and then tightly rolled it the length of the tent. The fly and the divider were neatly folded and the poles come with their own case too. All of the contents fit neatly in the bag with room to spare.
My wife and I are thrilled with this purchase!!! We paid $199 but I would be willing to pay much more. We camped in the Monarch Mountains in Montana and had a little bit of rain. Everything stayed dry and we had no problems at all with the tent. Wind is an issue in Montana but this tents strong poles system stood firm. It was so nice!
I recommend this tent to those who are seeking a large tent and aren’t worried about the price or carrying weight. This is a very solid and unique tent and more than worth the money! I have no problems with it and can see that this tent has many of the camper’s nightmares kinks all worked out. Very easy setup and take down with plenty of room inside. It’s best to have two or more persons setting this up together but one could manage.”

Can’t get enough of your Jeep? Well now you can sleep in a Jeep as well–a Jeep tent, that is. This seven-person Jeep family dome tent–made by the same company that sells the Cherokee and Wrangler–offers plenty of room for your family, with a whopping 127 square feet of interior space and up to three separate rooms. As a result, you can enjoy more privacy than with a single dome tent, or your family can sleep in two rooms while storing your gear in a third. Not surprisingly for a Jeep product, the tent is sturdy and well built, with a color-coded fiberglass frame for easy setup, 800m polyester walls, four guyout points on the fly for stability in the wind, and a sonic-welded polyethylene floor that prevents moisture from seeping in. And crucially for a seven-person tent, the Jeep shelter includes a four-corner ventilation system to keep things from getting too stuffy inside.

The tent also offers several handy extras, including a gear loft and two closets for storage, an integrated mud mat that helps keep the tent floor clean, and a sweep-out doorsill for easy cleaning. Other features include a versatile embossed rainfly with taped seams that also doubles as a standalone shade canopy; four inside-zip windows with mesh screens; and one reversed U-style door. The Jeep tent–which offers an 18-by-10-foot footprint, standing height of 84 inches, and a carrying weight of 31 pounds–is backed by a 10-year warranty.

Customer reviews for Jeep 18×10 7-Person Family Dome Tent :

“i just recieved this tent for my birthday for a 3 day camping trip for memorial weekend. first thing i did was a test set up. very easy setup. could be done with one person if necessay, but easier with two. first thing i noticed after the size was the lack of any dividers. it’s large enough for three rooms, and set up that way, but there are no room dividers nor any attachments for such. shouldn’t be called a three room tent if it’s not seperated. this is why it’s only four stars. lots of storage space inside in pockets and loft. also neat little closets on the exterior for shoes and stuff that you want to keep dry, but don’t want to bring in the tent itself. i will post an add on review after the trip this weekend.”

“Pros: -Tough floor material, not the polyester stuff.
-Lots and lots of space, with plenty of headroom
-Nice fly
-Lots of little storage spots for all that stuff in your pockets. Nice to have a place to keep a flashlight in reach for those midnight bathroom runs.
-Sturdy. First time I used it we caught the north side of a major storm system, and it barely fluttered. For a tent this big, it was impressive.

Cons: -Seam along middle of side room ceilings, leaks fairly bad. Water tends to collect on top. Definitely needs seam sealer, maybe add a guy line to keep ceiling taut and prevent pooling.
-Not the quickest set up in the world, but that’s not really a surprise just by looking at it. Just hope you don’t have to set it up trying to beat a T-storm rolling in.
-First one was missing a coupling for the poles. Had to have Amazon ship a whole new tent, which had all the pieces. Great response from Amazon. Originally they wanted me to contact the manufacturer, but that’s Chrysler, and considering their recent troubles, do you really think you’re going to get that part anytime in the next year? The number they gave me was the main service number for the company. Maybe going to a dealer and trying to order direct that way would work better – assuming there’s a dealer to be found near you!
-Both tents had carrying bags that were torn along part of the zipper seam.
-No fly coverage for side or back windows, so in a storm you’ll have to close up the flaps, which can make things a bit stuffy.
-Cheap tent pegs, which is typical these days.

All in all, I like it. Every tent is going to leak, so I’m not complaining too much, and with as much room as this one has and considering there’s only four of us, we were able to stay in the middle and stay pretty dry. Hopefully the seam sealer will keep the side rooms dry next time. Can’t understand why they put that seam right smack in the middle. The only thing that really bugs me is the bag. This is not a small or light tent, so a sturdy bag is a must and it looks like they really cheaped out on that to save costs. All I can say is fold/roll it all up really tight to give the bag some room. Overall, I’d buy this tent again.”

Customer reviews for Jeep 12×10 5-Person Family Dome Tent :

“It rained buckets, it blew, and then the sun shined. The tent worked great, no leaks. It took 2 people to set up the tent, but it only took us a few minutes. I really like the dirty shoe pockets and the mud floor at the entrance. I needed a tent that I could stand in. I could stand up, stretch, and get ready in the morning without rolling around trying to get my pants on while laying down (I’m 6′4″). People at our campsite said they were going to get this jeep tent because their Eureka leaked and was too small.
This tent is HUGE!! Well worth the money.”
